The reason there isn't a line for owners is lack of interest in the game, not that people are going "I'd love to get a team, but those players don't interest me" and are waiting for a team with better prospects to arrive.

Don't kid yourself, its more important to keep the current owners invested than worry about "new" owners. And to not have truly terrible teams with no players who can play the coming season.

Besides, you gave one example. Prior would still be a top 5 pick I think given his PB value. But getting 350 decent PAs from a middle infielder isn't terrible either, and what if Prior becomes Ankiel?

Since there are no sure things, might as well go for best value for the coming season, especially in Traditional leagues.
