Closer Iportance
I top closer is not necessary nor even the best way to go. So far I have found that looking at a short reliever's AVGs vs left and right handed hitters is more important. For example, a reliever that pitched .200 vs lefties and say .210 vs righties would make a good closer. You don't necessarily need a Trevor Hoffman or a Mariano Rivera. In fact finding a "diamond in the ruff" like Donnie Wall or John Rocker can be worthwhile and free up space in the draft to get a quality starter or power hitter.
Sincerely,
Schneevs
