I think the whole throw the ball back thing is silly to begin with and to throw back THAT ball beyond silly. Besides, if he didn't want the ball ARod hit then he shouldn't want any other ARod souveniers. Personally if I'm at the park and I caught an opposing player's homerun I'm keeping the ball even if it's Joe Randa's. :o)
