what Windows version are you running ?
If XP - hit ctrl-alt-del keys - applications tab - and close everything except purebaseball.
Also try running your disk utilities depending on your Windows version.

Ive seen the problem you describe when another application is trying to run,slowing everything down.Or the server is busy or having a problem
while trying to download PB.
