I heard that argument about the database not being able to handle it before. It struck me as a hollow argument then, and even more so now. If they can re-program the way an entire league works (contraction) surely they can add some variations to the way teams are acquired.
Someone needs to babysit these teams, so if you let active, succesful owners do it at a discounted rate for a set period of time, those teams will be that much better if and when they become available again. Actually, I suspect many of them would never be managerless again. A great many owners will probably become attached to their new teams and want to keep them at full price once the introductory period is finished.
