I admit luck does play a part.
I admit luck does play a part. Some times teams are hot, some times they are not. I do notice though that it usually balances out. Skill is also important, from roster manipulating, lineup adjustments, setting pitching assignments, PH, relievers, etc.
The great thing about this game is its two games in one. First you have the GM part of it, making up your roster. Ex. might include picking up a Woody Williams before playoff time in a RT league, mainly for the playoffs. Seeing who the teams you might play are in the playoffs, and getting that right handed catcher to demolish Tom Glavine.
Then you have the coaching part. In the regular season I don't have much time to spend on the coaching part, but once playoffs come, I'm there for every pitch. Knowing how the game works, as well as what relievers to bring in and when, who to walk, etc. is all part of the skill part.
Good luck this year,
Ken
