Exactly Correct
PB is short managers because it does not promote. That's the problem. It cannot be found by websurfing, and does not have an inviting interface once found.
PB also does not have mass appeal by design. "Go Fish" is more popular than Bridge. Reducing teams to require only familiar players will not make the game better. One reason that the online roto games are so popular, besides being free or cheap, it that they don't require much time to play. They are a diversion, not a hobby. They are also very different games, they are predictive games, bringing neither the elements of strategic management nor sabremetrics the PB has.
Making fewer teams will further distort the game, further remove it from reality when it tries to capture as much reality as possible. I would encourage any new player to give it a try; it is a good game. BUT, if you like "Go Fish", you should play that and not ask Bridge players to dummy down the game.
Now, hopefully you will ask why RT players are so fanatical.
