Cmon guys
I can't believe I'm reading a 20 post heated arguement over D'Angelo freakin Jimenez. I have Jimenez on one of my teams and for the first two years he was a barely useful player. Yeah, he had a hot start hitting-wise but he's cooling way down lately and his fielding is still terrible. He will not be starting at second base for my team. Maybe a little DH time till his stats drop too far. At this point I'd classify him as a borderline prospect and definitely not something that will upset the balance of a league.
I'd also like to remind you of the importance of center field. Shortstop, center field and catcher are all the same - you absolutely need to have one unless you have completely forsaken your fielding. If that team had no center fielder than he likely wasn't in a great bargaining position. The cost was a replacement level third baseman and a marginal prospect with little immediate impact for a replacement level player at a key position.
Is the trade in favor of the unmanaged team? Yeah a little.
Is the trade worth 20 posts of argument? Hardly.
