Draft pick trades coming up---lets decide on new rules!

Posted By Mike Bravard

1. It seems to me that the majority had favored a 125% of average PB as the limit but it may have been 120%? Ken G will have to confirm which one it was because he held the discussion.

2. I am open to changing the cut to 25 from 27 in all leagues? Is this something we should do? If so it must be done before draft picks are traded.

3. I am also open to changing how we do the draft order in FA but WILL not agree to ending the random process. I would consider NOT awarding the top picks to playoff teams from the year before or some other limit but believe the randomness of the draft order to be a fun quirk of the system and a PB/CSN tradition to boot! To those who feel this is unfair to the have nots, I repeat: FA picks are not rebuilding picks---they are contending picks. Rookie draft picks are generally rebuilding picks first and contending picks second. Yes, it is important to help teams who are rebuilding but it is equally important to encourage teams to contend and the hope of getting or trading for a high FA pick can keep managers interested in contending.

4. I am open to holding a managerless trading period (2-3 weeks?) once dract picks can be traded in TRAD and RT (also for 2-3 weeks before trading deadline) but only if I can make trade offers in my leagues. I would make a fair offer first and then submit it on this forum and gauge the reaction for a 24-hour period. If it was positive I would approve the trade. I apologize for making my trade offers a subject of this forum, but I really want to participate in the process with my 5 teams. As I have said many times to managers who would prefer I not play, my passion for the game is why we are here...I can not and WILL not be an administrator of a game I do not play.
