Having set starters was discussed a long time ago...it's not a new idea. The problem is getting it implemented. This discussion was more about what to do until that happens. Most of the time I only set G#4 and G#5 pitchers so that #1 or #2 don't get a chance to start again. However, sometimes I need to put a lower graded starter in the 1st game and just make him a long reliever so he doesn't start again. There are several different approaches to it. The biggest problem is that the manager settings for the robot don't work as intended. Personally, I think the setting aren't actually where it says conservative or aggressive. It's off by one or two selections from what you pick. For example, semi-aggressive may actually be aggressive or even 2 over back to conservative. I'm fooling around with this theory right now.
