Needing pitching in 98T2, I tried to get Lawrence from Burnsville before the draft. He wanted my #1 rookie, #1 FA and Beltran for Carlos Lee and Lawrence and I think his #7 or #8 FA. My rookie pick was 3rd overall. Beltran, I believe, is better then Lee, so I rejected the trade and countered with my #1 rookie, #1 FA for Lawrence and #8 FA which was rejected by him. In the end he got the better deal.
