The only stat you should look at is OPS for a comparison. Throw out everything else.

Then, when comparing two players, remember that a right handed hitter doesn't do as well as lefties due to platoon. Platoon is the greatest factor in our leagues(more so with 20 teams).

In any given game I could slice and dice Pujols with righthanded starters and relievers, but I'd be more worried about Olerud, Helton, Walker, etc.

Lastly is park effects, which would also favor Olerud.
