Trade opinion (vetoed)
League Name: PB 2000 Traditional
Trade Title: Lafayette Lunatics trades with St. Louis Cardinals
Denny Neagle and Peter Munro From Lafayette Lunatics To St. Louis Cardinals
Carlos Guillen From St. Louis Cardinals To Lafayette Lunatics
-------
This trade was vetoed. Why, I do not know, so I'm posting here. The trade was done by two Purebaseball veterans, both with long histories of being very successful. I say this, as it's not one dominant manager treating some inactive newbie like a doormat. Both teams are leading their divisions too.
St. Louis has pitching problems and needs some arms to eat innings. They also have plenty of help at SS and Guillen was on the farm.
Lafayette has plenty of innings and wanted to get something for 2 players that will be drops after the season.... neither SP was being used that much either.
So, we basically have a trade of two farm hands. Far from a blockbuster.
Here are the PB values of all players involved for 02 and 03:
Guillen: 3.533/3.055
Neagle: 1.309/.262
Munro: .983/.580
I'm failing to see why this trade was vetoed, and I thought the new individual league commissioner positions were supposed to help with issues like this (as Bravard has stated he doesn't have time anymore to hear statements from both teams involved in the veto anymore).
