That you don't need Guillen isn't important

I understand you need pitching and Guillen isn't being used. That still doesn't mean a starting SS under 30 with better than average numbers in a pitchers park isn't worth more than two mediocre pitchers with no future value. You've only explained why the players involved are available to be traded, not that they are equal value. If I have ARod, Garciapara, and Jeter and one of them sits all the time while I need pitching, that doesn't mean I trade Jeter for Dave Burba and Terry Mulholland.

There's a good chance Guillen would get you one decent starter with some future success as well.
