Your comments on Kearns are well taken, but he is ultimately an unproven commodity, no matter what Sickels or others feel. I agree that he is young and loaded with promise, but so are many others. Your future estimation of his prowess is speculative and thus suspect.

Loretta is 32 and should provide an above average solution in the near/long term, never mind that he helps you win now. Do you think he will be without a job next year ? Think about how RT games are played, and the fallacy of your perceptions is obvious.

True, RT is a mix of promise and speculation, but you ignore the need to win now if that is available.

If your teams are in perpetual rebuild mode, your discomfort is understood, otherwise stop judging trades on player v. player equity.

Overall, player equity in any trade should be judged on long term equity versus short term need AND ownerships willingness to gamble.
