Understanding PB values

Posted By DaveF

I know PB values are in general meaningless, but I always figured it was because they overvalued based on IP or PA.

Can anybody explain:

PB rating ERA IP LOPS ROPS
Cory Lidle 1.710 3.9/2.9 6.21 153.2 .775 .882
G. Stephenson 1.666 4.4/5.1 4.41 159.1 .800 .760

This is an RT league so after Tue or Wed the stats will change. These were as of Sunday the 31st of Aug.

Lidle is INN but I've never noticed the game counting INN rather than actual IP. I know I have INN players with fewer IP than Lidle with almost no PB value but better pitching stats.

Anybody have an explanation?

I know this is a pretty unimportant question, but it just happened to catch my eye as I was looking for a cheap INN backup pitcher to eat some innings and I thought I'd post a question.

Thanks.
