Mac Hurting
Hi Brian,
No, he didn't hurt.
But here is what I meant. In spite of the numbers, he did fail in the clutch a lot. He killed rallies with 2-out Ks instead of clutch hits. I got to watch him on my team for 80 games last year, and (at least at home in Wrigley) he really didn't produce as advertised. He only drew 3 intentional walks, so Burnitz presented him with a lot of opportunities. Burnitz finished with 103 ribbies batting behind Mac, so there was a lot of cleaning up to do. That, or there were a lot of runners on base (nullifying your "no support" theory). All I'm saying is, in my league on my team, he didn't produce the way his numbers would indicate. That's all.
