Game errors or muffs?....
I have several quirks about the game that seem not to be correct.
1) the ball "dies" in OF grass when you're playing on artifical turf (the ball cannot die in outfield grass when there's no grass for the ball to die in!)
2) ground ball to 2B or SS and they catch the ball and step on 2nd then toss it to either 2nd baseman or SS (I know it doesn't change the outcome, but what is the computer doing.....padding stats?)
3) starting pitcher pitching in 9th gets 1st 2 outs then gives up BB and gets pulled, RP gets next out to end game, BUT WAIT, computer brings in another pitcher to get another out to end game again. (this happened to one of my teams this week in game 4. I looked at the box score after the game and the starting pitcher was only dredited with pitching 8.1 innings although I keep score in EVERY home game and he actually pitched 8.2 innings. The "extra" pitcher was then used in game 5 after the starter game up 5 runs in 4.2 innings and pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless ball.
4) a power hitter trying to get a bunt base hit late in game when a hr would tie the game or win it (what kind of baseball sense does this make)
5) along the same lines, infield in to cut winng/tieing run off at home with bases full and groundball right at an IF yet he goes to 1st for out instead of home for the out (why have the IF in if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do???)
6) Text announcer getting excited about a visiting teams HRs while not getting excited about yours.
7) visitors seem to score top of the next inning after you score (usually happens around 50-60% of the time)
8) I don't know about anyone else, but in my 3 leagues my teams pitchers give up more BBs and HRs then in the real stats while the batters usually do less in those areas.
9) a ball hit "through the box" yet pitcher spears it and gets the out at 1st base (what? the pitcher has a 20 foot long arm? if it's "through" anything that means it is PAST that spot and if it's past the spot then pitcher cannot catch it)
10) if it "looks like it's in the seats", "looks like it's out of here" it isn't and it will be caught
11) if it "looks like it's going to get caught", it won't be.
12) home team usually has more "checked swing" strikeouts while visitors get more "checked swing" BBs
13) visitors seem to get more chances batting with runners in scoring position then home team ALSO usually the heart of the lineup (unlike the bottom 1/3 of lineup for home team)
14) pitcher being pulled in the middle of a bat with the count being in favor of the pitcher even though there's no injury (usually happens in late innings after a missed H&R/SB in a close game)
