Wow a rear post in forum from Mike Stuart plus 2cent
1st off wanted to say I apprecaited reading your post, made good sense and to think your from another country(teasing ya a)Now to be fare only time we had a trade debate was last year about the Randy Johnson and Bonds trade. Clearly some felt the trade was not fare but agreed that is not your fault, it was approved. Main area of debate was more so how shocked others in the league was that a team would trade two stars with out an attempt to get the best offer IE give others a chances to make an offer which would have been easily done by making a short simple post"bonds, Johnson up for trade, will take best offer". Thus most of the debate was directed not at you but the team who traded them to you. We are not a island to ourself but part of a league, our actions do cause reactions, like for an example the Pujols trade...caused your division rival to quit in RT98-2 and perhaps sparked this current debate and frustration so much so a guy who owned like 7 teams just quit and some others are given thought to it. Happy you did response, respect that and I personally feel its great to have a active manager like you around and agreed your not to blame, in saying that will admit to lose to your team wouldnt spark that sense of the better team beat me as should be assuming all things are fare but more so that team who got Pojols from a managerless team just beat me no suprise. its nice to win but its also nice to win respect too. its like when a new guy comes in your league taking over a great team, then start to brag about how good his team is, ya he is right his team is good but he shouldnt expect us to give him much credit for his teams success. I guess others feel cheated but perhaps you also have been cheated of respected for your teams success and your right of no fault of your own. But I dont know how my name got in this debate as I have not posted on the subject yet twice my name has came up....reason I havent botherd to say anything is there is nothing we can do but pay and play or quit, hate to be the one to point out the obviouse but Purebaseball is clearly not a democracy! Only thing I am frustrated about and posted about resently is I am offering to pay and play yet Mike B. Refuses to let me take over a team. WEll in all fareness he did say he might let me have the team if no one else wants it but the key word is MIGHT? Not sure how this is fare to PB community having so many ownerless teams. oya its fare I forgot this is not a democracy.
