Dismantling leagues
Dismantling leagues would create as many problems as it solved. You are assuming that owners who lose teams would automatically jump into existing leagues. I wouldn't do that. I would this game. I am one of the "disgruntled" players of PB. (Though I would like to think I am not as classless as the idiots who post anonymously about competitors or trades they don't like) I play because I am attached to one of my teams in particular. It is in RT2 99, which I imagine would be a prime candidate to be eliminated since it has currently 6 unowned teams. In my opinion, we would be better off with contraction of teams instead of leagues. I spent the past 3 years rebuilding this team and I not interested in another rebuilding job (read current managerless team) to stay in PB if the league I am in gets eliminated. The only other viable option would be to eliminate numerous leagues and use the remaining owners to create entirely new leagues. I doubt Mike B would want to do that.... even assuming that owners would be interested, which is not a given.
The game has problems but dismantling leagues would add to those problems not reduce them.
Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
