Streaks & Windows
My idea (windows of 1 month player stats) only works if we start the season in early May. Under my idea, streaks, no matter when they occur, will help (or hurt) the team, just like in real baseball. We play the 1st month of RT using the first month of baseball stats. The second month of RT based on the second month of stats, third month of RT based ont he third month of stats, AND ONLY THE THIRD MONTH (hence the term window of stats).
The advantage to this is that streaks only have an effect for a short period of time. If Manny Ramirez hits .190 in August, you feel the pain in September. IF Matt Lecroy has a monster August, with an OPS of 1.000, you benefit from his streak. As it is now, neither of those streaks would have much effect on RT because they happen toward the end of the MLB season. Under our current rules, early streaks in MLB are carried way to long in RT
