Just looking for some positive feedback here gues on how to improve PB. Not trying to open up a forum to attack each other. here goes


Fact- current draft order rewards loosing up to five 1st round rookie picks. nice

Validate Tanking- sure some loosing team's stats are a little wacky but no games persay can confidently validate tanking. Again read Jerry's Post in B8. that is what got me on the subject. Excellent post thanks Jerry.

Problem #1- SOME managers are just not trying to win a few even trying to loose. Ranging from neglected teams to subtle tanking. This is the main problem because it offsets league competitive balance. I feel this takes away from many aspects of PB enjoyment.

Problem #2- Currently we have no rules in place from how to validate tanking explained very well by Dave F. let alone what to do if proven? 1st time get a warning and ask to read PB rules 2nd time no excuses they loose out on lottery draft or even get the dead last rookie pick 3rd time HELLO what is the point they got nothing to gain from tanking, problem solved but would lead to a new problem, they would up and quiting and got a manager LESS team that is slated for dead last pick. Dont see wisdom in fixing a problem by adding a new problem

Time for a Change- Why bother getting in to dealing with problem #1, #2? lets put our heads together and come up with a solution that will put the issue to rest completely.

Solution- Attack the root of the problem or it will keep growing back. Stop rewarding loosing % move to a new draft format that is cheat proof and really rewards most needy teams Vs lottery draft that is random.

Suggestion- Move from lottery draft to P.B. value draft order. Recently utilized in the contraction draft.

A few positive benefits of this change

1, one less thing to fight over(smile)
2, Weakest teams always rewarded
3, Would help rebuilding teams as your have more competitive leagues bartering for talent.
4, What excites me the most we're see more competitive division races. Heck some owners who might have normally given up early might find themselves in the playoffs are atleast playoff hunt. Much more active and interesting leagues to play in.
5, To some degree it would be almost like instituting a salary cap thus no need for PB value cap(125%)

Lets do a 1 year TEST-RUN and see how it effect quality of play? Hey we can always go back to the old Lottery draft but would be interesting to explore all the benefits that could come of PB value draft order. If many of you and the commissoner also feel the same lets try it!

Open to any suggestion rest of you have that would get us AWAY from rewarding losing % teams(if it was only that simple). That draft style has too many problems to fix and if it could have been fixed would have been a long time ago, we need to come up with a new idea...I think the best way to go is PB value draft order. That is going to really do a lot for PB enjoyment of play if others feel that way lets give it a test run. Chuck
