PB values are misleading as we all know. Too much value is given to just showing up for work (PA or IP).

Righty - lefty platoons are already overly encouraged by the game and rewarding lower PB value just encourages that even more. Two low PB guys with .900/.300 & .300/.900 are probably more effective in PB than 1 guy with a .850/.850 LOPS/ROPS.

That said...

If team PB values are to be used for anything, I'd prefer to see it limited to only the top portion of the roster. For instance the PB value of the top 20 players rather than of the entire team - or as I suggested elsewhere use the top 8 PB values for position players plus the top 3 PB values for pitchers. Total team roster PB value is misleading.
