I was just looking at the boxscores from the series with Burlington and there is no doubt in my mind that the former Boston manager was trying to lose. No one has mentioned the managerless trade Boston made with Jacksonville shortly after. It appears to me that dumping a bunch of old guys who still have some value this season and a #4RK for a #3RK might also be a roster manipulation designed to lose more games. That trade does not "help Jacksonville get picked up".
