NEED INPUT on pricing and more
I am trying to get some LLeagues started this winter.
We are also going to try to get a new www.purebaseball page up focused on joing LL, taking on unmanaged teams and taking the tour and or trying the demo game. It will be pretty7 raw at first but it will be an improvement over waht we have.
I would like feedback on a new pricing system. The founders have been able to take as many teams as they wish for free over 3 and this creates problems and is not very fair to new customers who get no price break. I want to continue rewarding founders for their long support of the product but any new pricing would have to include at least a nominal fee for franchises over the first three.
The new pricing will include lower costs for teams over 3 and a base price somehwere lower than the current $9.95 per team per month.
We will also offer discounts for one year payment. Jeff Brown has assured us that the program he has written is flexible enough to encompass almost any variations we want.
I would like input onm the following:
---what should be the extent of the reward we offer founders? As a caveat be forwarned that there always will be some reward offered.
---what is a reasonable and marketable base monthly price for a franchise?
---should we consider quarterly or annual billing and not offer monthly billing?
---what should we charge for a LLeague?
On service:
I continue to explore solutions to our service and scheduling problems.
I am hoping for some real improvement both in service and content this winter but one thing we must keep in mind is SURVIVAL!
This is my main goal in so far as the leagues are concerned. There is almost no financial reason to keep them going so I am doing this for PB managers (including myself). Starting fresh when a marketable entry level game was completed would actually make the best finacial sense considering the small customer base we have---but I am committed to the survival of your teams and mine!
If you do not feel like you are part of a community and insist on "top notch customer service" you will probably have to look elsewhere for your gaming for the foreeable future.
If we can make a real go of this someday then all bets are off and I will do everything I can to make this a first class operation in every way, but for now survival with no paid employees is the only way to go.
There is no way a SIM ball game based entirely on league play can make a go of it without attracting non-SIM ball players. That is a fact. An entry level game that "creates" passionate league players is the best way to accomplish this and that is my goal.
Thanks to all of you who have played and supported PB---I will always be in your debt. Lets stick together and keep this thing going!
