Mike,
Since we see only one side of the financial picture (what we pay but not the cost to run PB) it is hard to make feasible suggestions. Given that caveat, here is my two cents. As a founder I like the idea of one free team for every team we pay for although I would be willing to still pay $9.95 per team if that is a financial necessity due to costs. A launch league fee of $5 seems innocous enough not to scare off any would be first timers yet still generate revenue from those managers who regularly play launch leagues. As to billing, I think quartely billing whould be a nice comprimise between the currently monthly system and a yearly bill. It may help keep managers committed to a team and disuade them from adding and droping teams on a whim. It also would not present as much of a financial burden on managers that a yearly bill might. Finally, for me, the most important issue is service. We need to stick to a schedule as to when drafts occur, when trades are run, when games are turned on etc, as much as possible. For those of us who have a busy schedule outside the PB world ( I know that includes you) it is helpful to be able to plan a time when we will create and send instructions or play games. When I am unable to send instructions because rosters have not been updated it is frustrating. When I set aside an hour or two to play PB (Thur just happens to be the best day for me) and the games are not turned on it is frustrating. Allowing the robot to play unmanaged teams by the weekend (or even sooner) would be helpful. Allowing roster changes to go through as soon as a team completes its games for the week would also be helpful. I often have my home games played by Thur night and then have to wait until Tue night to send instructions. Both of these suggestions have been discussed and if implemented would improve the "service" component of the game. I hope this helps. It is a great game and we all want to see it survive.
