The timing as I know it
I believe Charles Mick was owner of Boston at the time of the tanking. I contacted Mike about it on Tuesday evening (9/23) which was the day the series ended. At that time he was listed as the team's owner. Unless you want to believe a different owner played the games that weekend, dropped the team, and C Mick was given the franchise a few hours after the games were completed for that weekend (when Mike was not around), I believe he had to be the owner at the time.
Also, someone else referenced the trade he made with Jacksonville as giving up some useful talent for very little. I was offered the same deal by the current owner on 9/30, only he wanted me to give up Wakefield and Milton instead of a 3rd and 4th round rookie - I felt at the time that was a bogus offer made since I had reported the incident to Mike.
Mike asked for an answer from the owner a week ago. For what its worth Boston won 4 of 5 this weekend at home.
