I went and looked at all the tradional leagues to see what you were saying about it being in line with every league. After reviewing the stats I'm not sure what you are talking about. Of the 19 leagues I checked five didn't have anybody even close to 100 sac bunts. Seven only had 1 team.
Six had two teams. I included teams with 75 or m ore sac bunts. How many of these teams were in last place? Seven. 4th place? Four. 30 games out or more? Eight. All the others were 11 or more games out EXCEPT for that one team with 170 sac bunts in first place. Far enough ahead I guess to save plate appearances by bunting. Seems to me the only stat in line here is that all the bad teams bunt alot. Whether they do it to save PA's doesn't really matter as by doing that you guarantee yourself a bad record hence a better pick. Intentional or not it has an impact.
