LUDICROUS

I guess I must be...

I agree that tanking is not cheating. If you play within the rules, you aren't cheating.

It is legal to intentionally walk players to lose a game.

It is legal to sacrifice bunt, play lousy players instead of stars, etc.

It isn't ethical. It isn't sportsman-like.

But it isn't cheating.

BTW- I agree with Garth's post above that the solution is to reward winning rather than rewarding losing. However, as the WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST said as she was planning to kill Dorothy..."it's how to do it..."

It is also important to give poor teams a chance to improve and setting up rules to penalize losing makes it hard to stop losing. Having drafted one team that is perenially strong and taken over 2 teams that were the weakest in the league; it is a lot easier to stay strong than to become strong once you are weak - at least in my experience...though I haven't tried intentionally losing to improve my draft position...and wouldn't.

I'd love to see this discussion switched to "how to reward winning without making it hard to turn around a losing team." If we work on that positive concept, maybe we can actually improve the fun of PB.
