Above you questioned "Why do we have ANY rules anyway?"

That is the point of my question, just because 3 or 4 or 5 catchers have played the OF doesn't matter. The game rules don't list Catchers playing any other position, so this seems to go against your quest for following the rules. How can you argue both ways?

One other question:

1.) If you play someone n the playoffs this year and they started Biggio or Zeile or Surhoff at catcher would you throw all your games again and threaten to quit? Seems like these players would be acceptable to play out of position with your line of reasoning.
