A suggestion for the future...
We all understand that this is a part time venture and sometimes events outside people's control happen.
On the flip side the playoff teams have worked very hard to get to the playoffs, they want to be able to play their games, and the time allotted for playing playoff games is very short.
In order to minimize the negative effects and maximize schedule flexibility I propose the following schedule for future playoff series (next year, etc).
Games 1-2 --> 3 days (currently 2)
1 extra day in between
Games 3-5 --> 4 days (currently 3)
extra day in between
Games 6-7 --> 3 days (currently 2)
3 days between series (currently 2)
An example of how this years postseason would look
Div. Series - Games 1&2 turned on - Nov 16 (currently Nov 16)
Div. Series - Games 3-5 turned on - Nov 20 (currently Nov 19)
Div. Series - Games 6-7 turned on - Nov 25 (Currently Nov 23)
Div. Series - Games 6-7 due - Nov 28 (Currently Nov 25)
LCS - Games 1&2 turned on - Dec 1 (Currently Nov 27)
LCS - Games 3-5 turned on - Dec 5 (Currently Nov 30)
LCS - Games 6&7 turned on - Dec 10 (Currently Dec 4)
LCS - Games 6&7 due - Dec 13 (Currently Dec 6)
etc, etc.
The last playoff series would end about 10 days later than it does now.... but it would give flexibility and reduce blood pressure as people on tight schedules try to play games.
With such a schedule modification would come an understanding that sometimes games would be turned on 6-12 hours late when things go badly... but since we have an extra day that should hopefully be ok.
