Snowball Chance in Hell
My bringing this entire issue to attention at this point is primarily geared toward fixing a MAJOR problem of frustration for MANY PB managers. I have NEVER SEEN or HEARD OF a game being replayed other than a routine crash when it basically is meaningless so I have LITTLE (no make that ZERO) confidence that such would be granted in this case or ANY other. I'll eventually get a short email expressing regrets that I have had some unpleasantness and start planning for next year.
In the past, I have strongly voiced that SOME recourse needs to be in place in case things like this (or a number of other unforseen circumstances) occurs - nothing ever amounted out of that (remember owner review boards, etc. etc.). Since that seems unlikely, then the other solution is a complete and strict ADHERENCE to published schedules. NO exceptions...if you can't play the game by a deadline, it gets played for you. I find that harsh but MAYBE that's the ONLY way owners won't boil over about these issues. ALL SALES FINAL - NO RETURNS or EXCHANGES. Things are much too HELTER SKELTER at this point. Sometimes we are on schedule, sometimes not, if not then its everyone's interpretation of what will happen, get your lineups in immediately, never change them because games can be played any minute...That's just plain silly. Communication is KEY with any delay but that has been TOO LITTLE and TOO VAGUE at most times. What's the difficult part about sending a post from Mike or John that something has happened and this is what's going on. The frustrating part is having a deadline reached, passing it, games not being played, the delay extending into the next day, people scratching their heads, then catchup time...ITS INSANE!
