Is there anything worse than a closer blowing a playoff series.
Its like a dagger in the heart. Losing a game 6 or game 7 when you were up by a run or two and you end up losing the playoff series. Its even worse when you are the home team, and you controlled the bullpen.
The regular season seems to be a blur, thus individual games seem to run together. Losses are easily forgotten.
Its when you make the playoffs that your heart beats faster, sweat forms on your hand and the mouse, and you nervously click for the next pitch.
We all make dumb moves occasionally; its when you have your best pitcher out their and he lets you down that hurts the most. Single to center, double to score him, extra innings. Three straight singles in extra innings, game over, series over, season over. The agony of defeat.
