At least one catcher game bug is fixed
As your opponent that game, the good news (for me) is that Nevin stank as a catcher having several (3) passed balls plus an error. The passed balls led directly to 2 runs which made the difference in the game.
Here was the play-by-play for those 2 runs:
Now coming in to pitch is Kim. Kim looks in for the sign and now delivers. Broussard is running. Hairston Jr. hits it off the end of the bat - single to left. Jones charges, takes it on one hop. Broussard is headed around to third. Hart takes the throw from deep left and slings it in to Randa - too late. The tag was high and late! Hairston Jr. moves to second.
The pitch-and it clangs off Nevin's mitt. Broussard scores and Hairston Jr. rounds third but holds as Nevin corrals the ball.
passed ball.
[Next pitch]low and in the dirt. Chavez swings and misses. Kim set the bait and the fish were biting on that one.
The pitch - and it gets by Nevin. Hairston Jr. scores easily as the ball rolls to the screen. Official scorer rules a passed ball.
Of course Nevin did throw out Endy Chavez to allow no stolen bases.
I think the reason the robot did not play Kreuter was that he was "RUSTY". I knew the robot skipped over rusty pitchers (which was why rusty got turned off in the last TRAD playoffs for away teams - right?), but apparently the same holds true of position players. I've lots of times had a backup catcher just there in case my starter got injured who was rusty for most of the season - now I realize he wouldn't have been a useful backup.
This needs to be changed.
I was glad to see your post as I was meaning to e-mail you to see if you had set Nevin to catch, although after seeing Kreuter was rusty; I assumed that was the reason.
Tough way to learn about how the robot handles rusty players but it was even tougher watching your hitters torch me for 32 runs in 3 games. When this game gets in a rut, it can get ridiculous. I still think there is another game bug that causes streakiness and big innings. I wish that were fixed too.
