Why do we play PB?
I'm guessing it is for the competition.
Do you want a league where your team is a group of all-stars and your opponents are all unmanaged teams? That seems to me the end goal of the policy you suggest.
We all (me included) try to make trades that help our team become better than the competition. Trade approval is needed to keep us from going over the line with:
You help me in league A and I'll help you in league B, or browbeat the opponent into a bad trade, or take advantage of a newbie who doesn't yet understand the nuances of PB, or run a farm team.
All I want to know is that my opponent is playing with the same rules as me...and that there ARE some rules. Without the enforcement of rules cheaters can prosper.
We aren't saints. There are plenty of examples on this board of efforts to gain an edge. We need rules and regulations whether it is poor game performance by a player used out of position, or a trade oversight policy, or an anti-tanking policy.
