Agree with Brian, misunerstandind Dave E?
Brian wants trades to be judged by themselves. Thus they must be fair for both parties. This means one owner shouldn't be taken advantage of. We aren't playing "Who can take advantage of owners the most".
He doesn't want trades to be based on how it might affect division races for a current year, which I also agree on. If an owner wants to trade for Pedro, and it will win him the world series, thats fine, but the offer for Pedro must be a fair and equitable one.
From the sounds of it Dave E, you want almost all trades to go through, even ones where a newer owner gets taken, which isn't good for the balance of the whole league. Its possible I'm misunderstanding, thus clarification would help.
Trades are about filling holes that you have, getting rid of aging players for youth and draft picks, picking up a one year wonder to help win the pennant, etc. They should help both teams.
