Schilling and Percival CG
Re: Schilling performance in Launch Leagues
Keep in mind that Schilling's ERA was about 3.2 in the lower scoring National League last year. In launch leagues there is more offense per team especially in the Junior Circuit. So that 4+ ERA for Schilling is probably not as far off as you think.
Keep in mind that the PB rating numbers take into account the amount of playing time and Schilling had 10% more innings than the other top ace starters and 20% more innings than a lot of pitchers. His grade rating is good but is not as dominating as some might think.
Re: Percival Complete Game
The follwing is an excerpt from the Game Manual on the subject of using Relief Pitchers as Starters. This explains how Percival was able to pitch a complete game. For further details refer to the game manual.
"He will be given extra BFA by the GAME at the beginning of his start, which will be taken away at the end of the game. His RECOVERY rate will be increased by 75% if his last appearance was a start."
Now whether this is a good rule or not is another issue. But this is how they do it
