Cap
This diatribe V. or against the cap really begs the question of how the cap is arrived at.
Certain position players and certain statistics seem to control. And we all know what they are.
This is why Jeff Kent or Soriano or A-Rod, Nomar, Jeter, Alomar in past years are worth so much, while a star OF comes in at so much less, unless he is Bonds or a continuing Albert P.
Setting limits based upon this feels arbitrary.
Check your year end stats, and the success of your little usage guy and you will see what I mean.
Cap limits should simply be abolished, who cares?
How this game is won, now that the novices are long gone has more to do with we all know what.
This said, inducing new members will always be problematic because the established clientel demand parity with in the small pool of talent they pull from. This how the game is played, especially in RT, where situational stats are over exploited, thus rendering the cap question moot.
Safegurds against small use players must be adjusted for, it is a known loophole, and while it rewards the few, it excludes the many.
