As I see it...
Any valuation system that says that Cesar Izturis (.597 OPS, 8.6 ODR, 593 PA) is worth almost twice the value of pitchers like Jon Garland (5.4/5 191 IP) , Miguel Batista (6.6/7 193 IP) , and Tim Redding (6/6.9 176 IP) (not to mention three times the value of Kelvim Escobar (5.6/5.2 180 IP).
I'm sure there are many more examples, I just went for some easy ones that I was familiar with.
As far as I am concerned until PB values reflect something similar to reality the whole concept of a cap based on PB values is a VERY BAD JOKE.
When PB values begin to reflect reality perhaps I'll stop screaming about the cap. But with PB values all over the map its quite unequitable.
