Dave F - That is idiotic. Are you suggesting basically going on strike against these high cap teams so as to try to screw them and force them just to release decent players into the draft?

What kind of mentality is this? Are you afraid to make a fair deal? Use the fact that they are under some pressure to negotiate a better deal than you might ordinarily be able to. It would be very foolish to pass up a good opportunity just because the other guy might benefit too.

It's not only high cap teams that have surplus players. Sometimes teams are overloaded at a particular position and would rather make a deal than just have to cut somebody. Focus on what's beneficial for you and deal accordingly and don't waste time dwelling on someone else's situation.
