I did not advise against dealing with teams that have a high PB total value. All I said was be vigilant - watch out for the "sucker" deal. In fact, I said deal if you think it will benefit you.

I agree that the PB value cap is not a completely true identifier of the best teams but when I look at a team with a PB total value of 115+ I know I'm looking at the cream of the league.
