Mixed Feelings
I have several teams and for some, trades with unmanaged teams are good, for others, it doesn't matter. It seems to me that trades with unmanaged teams are most helpful for the best teams because they perhaps are the ones who have extra young prospects laying around and can put them together for a stud player while the rebuiding teams can't afford that luxury especially during the off-season when you can only protect 27 players anyway. With trades with unmanaged teams, I find to get a deal done, you have to overpay a little which is OK if you can afford it but once again, this is a luxury that only a few have.
All in all, I suppose it's the preference of individuals. For me, I don't actively initiate many trades with unmanaged teams because there is no negotiation, no dialogue or give and take and to me it just seems like too much effort to put together an offer that I think is beneficial for both sides to just get a rejection with no information as to what the other side didn't like about it. But, this is the same reason I've given up on offering trades to any owner who says (I'm paraphrasing here) "make me offers but I'm too busy and have too many teams to actually make counter offers or tell you what I need but I will take the time to accept or reject your offer."
