Based on the numbers you posted, I would start Giles. I would routinely bring in Kotsay later in the game.
Sometimes the robot makes those kind of defensive moves--I'm not aware of any setting on that, though.
In past years, Giles numbers in CF were so poor that the answer would have been different. You can't afford to lose that kind of offensive production--unless you can deal him for a stud starter!
