Everybody has their own view
but I think that if you're going to be concerned about injuries worry about the 2 guys in the trade who've missed huge chunks of time with injuries (Eaton & Pavano) not the healthy one (Prior).
Also Pavano was traded for Pedro so that makes him valuable ? So was Tony Armas, is he valuable ? That trade was a money generated trade, not about talent.
Pavano has 2 years as an above average pitcher in 6 seasons, both in under 100 IP. His 201 IP last year was a career high by far. I'd be more worried about his health.
Eaton hasn't had an ERA+ above 100 since his rookie year and has struggled with injuries as well, missing most of 2002.
As I said, to each his own, but IMO this trade is a bad one for the managerless team. That said, who cares what I think ? Mike has to make the calls on these and that's it.
