Value in FA vs Rookie TRAD drafts
Considering just the top 10 "likely" picks in each draft, which draft has the most valuable picks evaluated 3 years from now.
Obviously this is just a wild guess.
Examples of players available (before FA cut to 27 where nobody is likely to be a top 10 guy anyway...):
Rookie: FA
Pitchers:
Dontrelle Willis Jeremi Gonzalez
Brandom Webb Rheal Cormier
Jerome Williams Darrell May
Horatio Ramirez Ron Villone
Jose Contreras Kyle Farnsworth
Rich Harden Juan Rincon
Luis Ayala Jae Wong Seo
Oscar Villarreal
Catchers:
Robbie Hammock you pick em'
IF
Mark Teixeira Alex Cintron
Matt Kata Adam Everett
Jose Reyes Brian Roberts
                       Casey Blake
OF
Hideki Matsui Scott Podsednik
Rocco Baldelli Luis Matos
Jody Gerut Aaron Guiel
Or pick your own...I skipped some guys and skipped to others and have a few of my "favorites" left off - BUT...
It looks to me like the FA draft this year has as much potential as the rookie draft.
Opinions?
