I, too, was surprised that he gave up only 2 runs in 4 IP, maybe for Glavine on '98 that represents a 'severe downgrade', or maybe I just got lucky!
As Mike Bravard has pointed out before, the law of small numbers applies to individual games - i.e., rotten players can perform brilliantly or brilliantly players can perform very poorly.
