Yanks well rid of Soriano: But they're still suspect
I think the weakness in Soriano's offensive numbers will be exposed in Texas. I think they would have been exposed sooner or later, anyhow, but it will be sooner without the protection of that lineup around him.
He swings too freely, doesn't honor his talent by trying to change and get better, and while he is an awesome offensive force for a second baseman, I think he will prove to be a disappointment over time.
The real travesty is moving A-Rod to Third just becasue the Yankee hype and the media have made an icon of a nice mid-level Shortstop in Derek Jeter.
Anybody but the Yankees would deal Jeter for some pitching now. The early rumors said they'll have to give up Contreras, and once you get past Vasquez, their pitching staff is suspect.
I hope meddlin' George gets what he got twenty years ago--a revelation that he should let his baseball people do their jobs. I think they will implode before the year is over.
Puttin' it out there so I can look foolish in a few months!
