Draft picks are always a gamble, even with Japanese imports such as Ichiro, Matsui, and soon Kaz Matsui. Some managers dislike that gamble so much they would rather have a consistently good vetern than take a chance with a first round rookie pick. For me part of the fun of Purebaseball is taking that chance on a youngster and then watching him develop (hopefully). IMO if you have the #1 pick, take Webb; worst that happens is that you live to regret it.
