In the past Steinbrenner has tried to get the city to help him build a new stadium in Manhattan. I've heard no mention how the Rodriguez trade might help that situation. An increased interest in the Yankees after say 3 world championships in a row might drive a move to build a new downtown ballpark. As an ex-Bronxite I'd hate to see Yankee Stadium go but I doubt Steinbrenner has the same affection for the park. It's not in a great neighorhood & is 81 years old. Anyway that's just my unusual take on the fallout of a Rodriguez trade.
