While the jury is obviously still out on Bonds and illegal "enhancements", it may be that we have three classes of great players - those that accomplished great things in spite of what they put in their body (Ruth, Mantle, etc. with smoking, drinking, perhaps illicit drugs), those that accomplished great things because of what they put in their body (McGwire, Bonds, ???)and those that just did it on nature talent and hard work alone (???????).
